Technical Description

Our MIG welding wire portfolio is anchored by the ER70S-6 classification, the most widely used solid wire for welding carbon and low-alloy steels. The copper coating ensures excellent electrical conductivity, smooth wire feed, and reduced spatter, resulting in clean, stable arcs and high-quality weld beads. Available diameters range from 0.6 mm to 1.6 mm, covering thin-sheet work through heavy structural fabrication. The wire is suitable for welding steels with tensile strengths up to 530 MPa and is supplied on plastic spools for compatibility with standard MIG welding equipment. Additional classifications such as ER70S-G, ER80S-G, and ER100S-G are available for higher-strength or low-temperature applications.

Grades and Compositions

The primary classification is ER70S-6, a copper-coated solid wire designed for welding carbon and low-alloy steels with a minimum tensile strength of 500 MPa. The deoxidizer content (silicon and manganese) ensures clean welds even on rusty or mildly contaminated surfaces. Higher-strength classifications — ER70S-G, ER80S-G, and ER100S-G — are available for applications requiring enhanced mechanical properties, such as low-temperature service or high-strength structural connections.
